Matthew Lewis has elaborated on that prank played by cheeky former Harry Potter co-star Rupert Grint.
The Neville Longbottom actor revealed on Twitter last month that the Ron Weasley star had been putting food on Lewis’s tab at one of his favourite restaurants.
Appearing on This Morning, Lewis explained: “I saw Rupert for the first time in a few years and we were in Orlando for the Harry Potter [theme park] and he told me he’s been going to this restaurant.
“And I said, ‘That’s one of my favourite restaurants’, and he’s like, ‘I know’, and I said, ‘How would you know that?’ and he said, ‘That’s because I’ve been putting all my food on your tab for several months!’
“Apparently when he came in, the manager was like, ‘Is Matthew picking this up?’ and he said, ‘Yeah, he told me to come down because he’s going to cover it’.
“It could have gone on forever – I would never have known!”
The 26-year-old also joked to hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield that his striking new facial hair for Happy Valley seems to be keeping away fans.
“Funnily enough, nobody comes near me with this,” he explained.
“I don’t know whether it’s because they don’t recognise me or they’re terrified of me… I don’t know which one it is. It’s quite the repellent.”
